SNS Industry Award
WINNER: Alan Wallman

Alan has been in the storage networking industry almost since it started. His 12 years heading up the European
operations of Emulex, one of the leading suppliers and innovators in the industry, has been coupled with ten
years of service on the boards of both the Fibre Channel Industry Association and the Storage Networking
Industry Association in Europe. He was in fact one of the prime movers in the merger of these two organisations
some five years ago.  At Emulex he built a team of employees that has pretty much remained intact for many
years with an extremely low staff turnover – something not seen very often in this industry. He also established
an organisation widely respected and admired by its channel partners, OEM partners and customers alike.

This summer he finally hung up his metaphorical ‘networked storage boots’, and we would like to take this
opportunity to recognise the outstanding contribution he has made over the years to our industry.
